Off to the USA

A good night at Bob and Sue's house, up in the morning' to start on our journey to Manitoba.
A quick breakfast and we were ready to go.
Into the car and down the 108 and on to the Soo. For some of you uninformed folks that is Sault Ste Marie. We made good time to the border, but within a few hundred metres of the bridge we hit a "road closed" sign. A few circles of the neighbourhood and Bob's terrific navigation, we were eventually on the right path. (20 minutes of our life we will never get back)

No problems at the border and we were into the USA, and on our way to Ironwood Michigan.
A good but boring driving day, and not as interesting as we thought it would be.
We did find an Indian statue that looked quite interesting.

As it turned out, this statue is of "Nee-Gaw-Nee-Gaw-Bow" or for the few of you unfamiliar with the local language, "Leading Man". Quite fitting the Bob and him are in the same picture.

We arrived in Ironwood Michigan in the later afternoon and checked into the Comfort Inn.
Ironwood was once an iron mining town but now is more known for downhill and cross country skiing.
More important is it is the home of the worlds largest Indian

Not the best picture, but in my defence, I was off having a beer while one of the other adventurers took this picture. Not mentioning any names Bonnie.

Off to dinner to the Maplewood Steakhouse. Of the 4 of us, nobody had a steak in the steakhouse, but the meals we did have, were quite good. Not sure if Bob and Sue had any food as they seemed to be more engrossed with the wine.

So, farewell to the restaurant as we head back to the hotel. Hard to tell, but I think Bob and Sue are waving one hand to cover up their wine glasses in the other hand.

You may remember, the notation of a kind of boring drive across the top of Michigan!!!
Well, we decided to spice up the next couple of days on our way to Manitoba.
How will we do that?
We traded in our ride for the one below. Should be a quick and fun trip tomorrow!!!

See Y'all tomorrow.
