We arrived in Honolulu at 7:00 am this morning.
Unfortunately we had to vacate the ship this morning. The good news is that we are heading for the Ilikai on Waikiki Beach for 11 days. Tough life.
These pictures are our first sight of the Honolulu Harbour.
Honolulu has a population of 850,000 and represents a melting pot of nationalities. Honolulu is the largest, most remote city on earth. Honolulu is in the pacific ocean and backed by the dramatic pali (cliffs) of the Ko'olau Mountains. Before annexed by the United States in 1898, Honolulu was occupied by the Russians, French and British on separate occasions.
We had a shuttle booked to pick us up at 8:30 but with breakfast at 7:00, then checkout and pick up our luggage, we thought we needed more time, so we called the shuttle and told him to come at 9:30.
Well, you guessed it, the disembarque was so streamlined, we were ready for pick up at 8:25.
A quick call and the shuttle arrived to take us to the Ilikai.
What a great condo. We have 1200 sq ft, 2 bedrooms with king beds and 2 decks looking over the Waikiki area.
Above are pictures of the view from one of our decks.
Remember my sunset pictures earlier, well I tried again tonight as you can see.
Let me know if you think these are better than the other ones.
More info on our condo and the area around us to follow, as we are all ready for a good nights sleep.
Of course a night cap would be in order prior to heading for bed.

Great pics Joe. Nothing like a Hawian sunset. We like the way you framed the foreground. Enjoy the rest of your trip. Nice Blog! Going to ask for a lesson so we can set one up for Portugal.
ReplyDeleteThat one pic you can see the room we stayed at, at the Hilton Hawaiian Village!
