Well, we will soon be boarding the Impression for our 15 day river cruise.
The day started early with a wonderful breakfast at the Budapest Marriott. We needed to be at the Budapest Intercontinental to unload our bags for transport to the ship. Apparently it is a ship, not a boat, as the difference is a ship has a Captain. Well, we hope to hell we have a captain. 15 days on a 445 foot vessel better have a Captain. Dan and I can navigate through Orillia, but on the Danube??? Anyway we a will have a Captain.
We decided to take a cab to the Intercontinental. We later found out the distance to the Intercontinental from the Marriott was about 400 metres. Well, we did have bags to transport, so we reasoned it was a good deal.
We had some free time till the shuttle was taking us to the ship (not a boat) so we set out to see the sights as you can see from the pictures below.
This picture (above) is Bonnie, our new friend Minnie, and Jane.
Below is a picture of a building that is mirrored in the old building beside it. Looked fantastic.
We boarded the ship (not a boat as you remember) around 4:00 PM.
As you can see the staff was ready for us to arrive.

We went through the various safety precautions. (we knew them all so headed for a quick drink).
Dinner was fantastic and after dinner they turned the ship (not a boat) around to prepare for tomorrow.
The picture below is the Parliament Buildings at night.
Off to bed tonight. Tomorrow we have a city tour of Budapest and depart along the
Danube at 7:00 PM.
Stay tuned for the excitement as we cruise the Danube.
