Bratislava, Slovakia

We sailed throughout the evening heading for Bratislava, Slovakia. Around 7:00 AM we approached the first lock that we had to negotiate. How many locks do we go through before arriving at Amsterdam  you might ask? Well, there are 68 between Budapest and Amsterdam. 1 down, 67 to go.

We arrived at Bratislava around 10:00 AM.
After lunch we headed out on a city tour of Bratislava. First stop was the Bratislava Castle.
Good name for it I guess since its in Bratislava.
The first picture is the castle and the second picture is the view from the hillside to the Danube River where our ship was moored.

The bus then took us to the old town for a walking tour. Must have been 100 open air cafes in the area and all cobblestone roads with no traffic allowed. It was quite beautiful.

We noticed a sewer worker who seemed positioned to check out the women as they passed. What do you think?  They call him Peeping Tom because he likes to look up the women's skirts.  Bad boy.

Bonnie had her picture taken with Napoleon who has his ass turned to the French embassy.
Seems he was a little miffed about being exiled to Elba.

As we were getting ready to head back to the ship for a well deserved cocktail, we discovered the bus had broken down. No problem. Joe to the rescue. He jumped on a bike and road for miles to get help.
Soon another bus was dispatched to bring us back.  My hero!

Back at the ship, we headed for the lounge for our well deserved cocktail in the lounge.

We were signed up for a Bristo dinner in the lounge. The bistro dinner included 4 starters, a soup, 3 main dishes, a cheese platter and 3 desserts. All of the dishes were a small amount .
On top of that we had 4 local wines to sample during the food tasting evening.

At 9:00 PM we were entertained by a five female performers called the "Aphrodites" in the lounge.

A great night and now is time for bed. We head for Vienna at 8:45AM tomorrow.
See Y'all then.
